For this assignment, I had find a book, journal article and event related to information retrieval and/or information filtering.  I also had to write about the  search strategies that we used to find the book, journal article and event.

For this assigment, I proposed some ideal index terms for Dr. Nahl's article (Social-Biological Information Techonology: An Integrated Conceptual Framework). then tested those terms on the Wiley Online database to see how well those terms worked in finding this specific article.

 

 

 

 

 

 

For this class, each student has to co-teach one session. The session I co-taught was about "Query Languages and Properties", in other words about what people type in search engines, the ways people can search and how that information gets tracked! I also talked about altmetrics, which tracks how articles, post have been used by users!

(note: Slide 2 was the agenda for the day which included other people's presentations, the other slides were from my own presentation that day, with a few slides [ie.  14, 23, 46] ]on topics the professor did most of the explaining)
