For this assignment, the scenario was that I was a reference librarian responding to an email from a desperate student on a last minute search for information about Waimalu.   I was to show how to find the information requested.

(note: the letter mentioned Waimalu is in "the district of Ewa".  This doesn't refer to just Ewa Beach, it also includes Kapolei, Waipahu and Pearl City according to this 'Oahu moku map http://www.avakonohiki.org/o699ahu.html )

This paper describes my experience at the Hoʻokele Naʻauao, a symposium related to Hawaiian and Pacific information resources. Everyone in our class attended the symposium as either an organizer, volunteer or audience member.

This was a reaction paper related to a classroom discussion about ethics in library/archive collection management as well as what type of information should go online.  I wrote about my experiences as a mixed-race person with a lot of mystery about my family background, and my experiences searching for information related to my family background.
